Job description

Responsible for preparation and finalization of accounts for English Limited Partnership entities / funds. Client deliverables and reporting responsibilities are divided into three period ends (monthly, quarterly and annual) Manage the day-to day team operations, prepare / review team deliverables before final submission to clients and achieve key performance indicators or specified Service Level Agreements Can independently handle complex, judgement-based deliverables (e.g., performs as an individual contributor and can act as a reviewer when required) Lead a small team of qualified accountants working on key client deliverables Work closely with client stakeholders to resolve queries, support new business requirements, work with client auditors to resolve queries Work or assist the head of Operations with process enhancements or improvements, monitoring and improving controls, teams? performance evaluations and other operational aspects Mentor, coach and train new and existing team members. Monitor and perform performance measurement of team on a periodic basis Assist the head of Operations in putting discussion documents, preparing content for various client governance meetings Reports are constructed in spreadsheet post extracting Trial Balance from the ERP. Communicate on daily basis with client reviewers on the progress and obtain sign-off on the reports submitted. In addition to reporting requirements, documentation of each process would be required to be done. The role may include knowledge sharing with the larger team and imparting training to new joiners in the team Broad reporting deliverables will include: Monthly: Cash Book preparation, Clearing of Key suspense account, Intercompany reconciliations for allocated entities, Portfolio KPI analysis Quarterly: Quarterly investor reports, GP fee calculation, Allocation Journals and calculations and forecasting presentations Yearly: Annual Statutory reports, Investor reports, Tax Statements Key requirements: Must have 6 to 10 years of work experience in accounting / financial reporting functional areas in the alternative investments sector (preferably worked in compiling books of account for private equity firms / hedge funds / financial services firms) Must have sound understanding of fund structures, partnership entities and fund accounting Must be capable of understanding a complex holding-subsidiary company / partnership structure and possess thorough accounting knowledge to treat and disclose investment accounting transactions Experience in working and handling data in multiple accounting systems / ERP system is desirable. Working experience of eFront reporting system is desirable, not mandatory Conversant with IFRS and UK GAAP. Ability to pick up specific areas in IFRS and UK GAAP, as required Demonstrate experience of managing and leading team of accountants. Be a team player with ?can do? attitude and help team members complete their activities in a fast-paced work environment Experience in process transition will be an added advantage Strong analytical and business acumen Strong communication skills ? Verbal and written; ability to articulate and present to client stakeholders Ability to effectively manage client escalations and experience Must have worked in client facing roles and focus on process improvements Excel skills ? Writing formulae, macros, VBA desirable PowerPoint ? Preparing presentations in client ready format MS Visio ? Experience in preparing process maps
