Database Administrator - PostgreSQL

Location

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain large-scale PostgreSQL databases to ensure high performance, security, and data integrity.
• Develop and implement database backup and recovery procedures to ensure minimal downtime in case of data loss or corruption.
• Monitor database performance, identify bottlenecks, and optimize database configuration to improve query performance and reduce latency.
• Collaborate with development teams to design and implement database schema changes, ensuring data consistency and integrity.
• Troubleshoot database issues, including errors, performance problems, and data inconsistencies, and implement corrective actions.
• Develop and maintain database documentation, including schema diagrams, data dictionaries, and query logs.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest PostgreSQL features, best practices, and security patches, and implement them in the production environment.

Requirements

• 2-8 years of experience in database administration, with a strong focus on PostgreSQL.
• In-depth knowledge of PostgreSQL database management, including database design, implementation, and optimization.
• Strong understanding of database security, including authentication, authorization, and encryption.
• Experience with database backup and recovery procedures, including data archiving and data warehousing.
• Familiarity with database monitoring and performance tuning tools, such as pg_stat_statements and EXPLAIN.
• Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex database issues.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work with cross-functional teams.
