DevOps Engineer - GitHub Enterprise Server Administration

We are seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer to administer and maintain our GitHub Enterprise Server (GHES) infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in GHES administration, GitHub Apps creation, self-hosted runners, and enterprise workflow governance. This role requires a deep understanding of DevOps and DevSecOps practices, as well as experience with cloud expertise, containerization, and DevOps security best practices.

Responsibilities

  • Administer and maintain GitHub Enterprise Server (GHES) infrastructure
  • Create and manage GitHub Apps at the enterprise level
  • Manage and maintain self-hosted runners, autoscaling, secure execution environments, and workflow orchestration
  • Design and manage Kubernetes cluster layout, resources, and storage
  • Monitor and optimize Kubernetes resources, such as pods, nodes, and namespaces
  • Administer, maintain, and monitor Kubernetes clusters and hardware infrastructure
  • Manage and maintain GitHub Actions
  • Experience working with enterprise standard GitHub workflows & Re-usable workflows
  • Design and implement DevOps and DevSecOps practices
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement process improvements

Requirements

  • 7-12 years of experience in GHES administration
  • Deep expertise in GitHub Actions, self-hosted runners, and microservices architecture
  • Strong scripting, API integration, and automation skills (GitHub REST/GraphQL APIs, GitHub CLI, Terraform, Ansible, Kubernetes)
  • Experience with GHES upgrade planning, disaster recovery, replication, and internal service optimizations
  • Cloud expertise (GH Cloud, GCP), containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and DevOps security best practices
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or Java for automation tasks
  • Experience working with GitHub Advance Security Tooling (GHAS)
  • Demonstrable knowledge of the enterprise Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)
  • Source Control Management (SCM) including Git & GitHub workflows
  • Experience with DevOps tools (e.g., GitHub Actions, Jenkins) for continuous integration and deployment practices
