The position requires ownership of the complete product development lifecycle, from concept and feasibility through design, prototyping, validation, pilot builds, and production readiness.
The role will work closely with senior leadership and cross-functional teams, including R&D, Engineering, Supply Chain, Quality, Manufacturing, Sourcing, and Finance, to ensure products are launched on time, within budget, and in line with defined specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
End-to-End Program Management: Own NPD/NPI programs from concept, feasibility, and design through prototyping, Design Verification Plan (DVP) execution, validation, pilot builds, and Start of Production (SOP).
Program Planning and Governance: Define and monitor program milestones, critical-path schedules, phase-gate reviews, and delivery commitments across cross-functional teams.
Product Requirements and Specifications: Translate business, market, and customer requirements into detailed product and engineering specifications in collaboration with R&D and design teams.
Cross-Functional Stakeholder Management: Drive structured program governance forums to align stakeholders on scope, cost, timelines, deliverables, dependencies, and risks.
Leadership Reporting: Present program health, risks, trade-offs, and key decisions to senior leadership through clear, actionable updates that support timely decision-making.
Cost Management and Value Engineering: Track Bill of Materials (BOM) costs, monitor budgets, and drive cost-reduction and Value Analysis/Value Engineering (VAVE) initiatives with Sourcing and Finance.
Supplier and Vendor Readiness: Coordinate supplier readiness for new components and technologies, ensuring design releases, tooling timelines, and component availability are aligned with program milestones.
Risk and Compliance Management: Identify and mitigate technical, supply-chain, regulatory, and compliance risks throughout the product development lifecycle.
Build and Launch Readiness: Coordinate build planning, pilot production runs, and launch-readiness reviews to ensure quality and performance benchmarks are achieved before SOP.
